The whimsically dreary peace in the land of old Freevakia is shaken when a peasant mob attacks the viscount’s mansion seeking fiery vengeance. With little more than what they can pack into a battered yet magically useful old trunk, the surly Viscountess and her trusty Maidservant are forced to flee, docking – naturally – in San Pedro, California.
As the out-of-place pair struggle to adapt to their calamity, they find themselves battling the natives, their ever-shifting fortunes, and even the threat all the way from back home in the old country.
Through it all, the duo use their limited resources and wits to get by, to get back to their loved ones, and to get… revenge!!
